Searching for a star

Learn how to pour the perfect Guinness! Heineken Malaysia Berhad’s (HEINEKEN Malaysia) Star Academy is back once again in search of the best Guinness bartender through its annual Guinness Perfect Pour programme. The programme seeks to train bartenders nationwide to uphold the standards of serving Guinness while rewarding the champion for delivering quality glasses of Guinness. Bar staff in Malaysia are invited to join training sessions across six states from August to October, with participants standing a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to the home of Guinness in Dublin, Ireland.

It is no secret that mastering the six steps of the Guinness Perfect Pour is key to the best-tasting glasses of Guinness. Guinness Perfect Pour is an annual programme launched in 2017 by HEINEKEN Malaysia’s Star Academy to elevate standards of service in the food and beverage industry, enabling bartenders to serve the perfect Guinness to consumers everywhere. This year, the Guinness Perfect Pour programme takes on a new experiential approach, where participants will go through an immersive experience in understanding the origin, ingredients, and serving rituals of Guinness.

“We are passionate about our customers and consumers, and we strive to give them the best experience in enjoying Guinness. Our commitment to serving high-quality beers extends beyond perfecting the brewing process. We empower our trade partners by training bartenders in mastering the perfect pour to serve beer at the highest quality. The six steps in the Guinness Perfect Pour technique bring out the perfect flavour, aroma, and presentation, making sure that every Guinness fan gets to cheers to a perfect serve, every time. Hence, we are calling for our partner restaurants, pubs and bars to join us in this year’s Star Academy Guinness Perfect Pour, and together we can serve world-class Guinness across the country,” said Vasily Baranov, Sales Director of HEINEKEN Malaysia.

The Guinness Perfect Pour 2022 programme is open for registration, with a goal to train 600 bar staff across the nation by holding sessions in six locations including Sabah, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang, and Ipoh. The training sessions will take on an experiential approach where bar staff go through an interactive guided tour with hands-on experience to master the six steps of the perfect pour. Participants will then undergo both a theory and physical test, with their product knowledge and bartending skills put to the test and graded accordingly.

HEINEKEN Malaysia will select and invite the top seven scorers from the training sessions to attend the award ceremony in October 2022 where the Guinness Perfect Pour 2022 champion will be crowned. During the ceremony, the first and second place winners will walk away with an all-expenses paid trip to Dublin, Ireland, where Irish brewer Arthur Guinness first started brewing the world-known stout over 250 years ago. All participants will also receive a Guinness Perfect Pour 2022 recognition plaque trophy and official certificate upon completion of the training.

For more information on the training session dates and to sign up for Guinness Perfect Pour, bar staff at participating HEINEKEN Malaysia partner outlets including restaurants, pubs, and bars may register on the Star Academy website at https://ift.tt/mTkrVQ7 or contact 013-3370878. Register your spot today and start serving the perfect glass of Guinness! Registration for each training session closes a day before the respective session’s training date.

Carlsberg celebrates record breaking 30-year partnership with Liverpool FC

KUALA LUMPUR: To celebrate Carlsberg’s 30-year partnership with Liverpool FC, #CarlsbergMY has launched their brand new Carlsberg LFC Legends Edition Cans!

Unlike other ordinary beer can designs, these limited edition cans feature the jerseys worn by the six LFC legends we will never forget - Ian Rush: Forward (1980-1996), John Barnes: Left winger (1987-1997), Robbie Fowler: Forward (1993-2001), Jamie Carragher: Defender (1996-2013), Sami Hyypiä: Defender (1999-2009), Luis García: Midfielder (2004-2007).

Carlsberg Malaysia Managing Director Stefano Clini said: “We are most happy and grateful that all our fans have made Carlsberg the beer of choice for every football occasion.

“Carlsberg has always been at the heart of football, and we are committed to continuously delivering the best football experiences to consumers who love the game as much as our brews. We want to honour the pride, loyalty and support of our fans with yet another exciting campaign this year to mark the 30-year partnership between Carlsberg and Liverpool FC,” he said.

John Barnes, who played with the Kop between 1987 and 1997 said he is honoured to be part of the campaign and said the partnership between the two represent the loyalty of the Liverpool fans.

“Even though Carlsberg came in when we were successful, we had a period of not winning any trophies and Carlsberg stayed with us for 30 years to show their loyalty. I can say the same about the Liverpool fans,” he said.

Sami Hyypia, who won the UEFA Champions League with the Reds in 2005, said that he is proud to be a part of the Carlsberg-Liverpool journey.

“It was an honour to play in a Liverpool jersey with Carlsberg sponsorship on the front. This 30 years anniversary shows how really strong this partnership is,” he said.

Fans can stand a chance to win these limited-edition keepsake cans when they purchase six full pints, 10 half pints, two buckets or one tower at their favourite bar or when they spend a minimum of RM20 at convenience stores or RM30 at super and hypermarkets and 99 Speedmart on either Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, Carlsberg Smooth Draught or Carlsberg Special Brew.

Liverpool FC fans can also get the set for free when they buy RM300 worth of Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, Carlsberg Smooth Draught or Carlsberg Special Brew at super and hypermarkets and 99 Speedmart, official Carlsberg’s online stores.

About 100 mini football festivals have also been scheduled across Malaysia’s favourite eateries as the Premier League season commences.

Constipation in children

Constipation is a common problem in children of all ages. It can be defined as infrequent passage of stools and/or difficulty in passing hard and painful stools.

To better understand the meaning of an infrequent passage of stools, it is helpful to know normal bowel habits. What is considered to be normal bowel habits depends on the child’s age and their daily diet. In the first year of life, breastfed infants averagely have 2-3 soft bowel movements per day. There are some breastfed infants who pass stools after every feed, and some who have bowel movements only once a week. It is rare to find constipation among fully breastfed infants. Formula-fed infants have bowel movements 1-3 times a day although sometimes this may depend on which formula is given. By 2 years of age, a child typically has 1-2 formed firm stools every day, and by 4 years old, they usually open their bowels once every 1-2 days.

A child who has constipation has stools that are hard and lumpy or pellet-shaped. It may be painful causing them to cry and strain during defecation. As a result of the pain and discomfort, many children tend to develop unusual habits including arching their back, crossing their legs, tightening their buttocks, squatting, or other unusual positions in an effort to avoid bowel movements. As the urge to have bowel movements comes and goes, the child will be shifting constantly from happily playing to sudden “attacks” of pain. Some children will hide in a corner and cry during such periods of pain.

After a painful episode, sometimes children may develop a small tear at the anus called an anal fissure, leading to further withholding of stools. This is a vicious cycle where withholding bowel movement causes larger and harder stools resulting in worsening anal fissures.

Most children with constipation do not have any medical problem causing the symptoms and this condition is termed as functional constipation. Constipation is more likely in children who lack dietary fibre and fluids, and who lead sedentary lifestyles. Occasionally, changes in the surrounding environment such as being at school or travelling may cause the child to delay their bowel movement as they are not comfortable at the unfamiliar place. Children who have an allergy to cow’s milk or dairy products may also have constipation, although it is more common for them to develop diarrhoea.

Less than 5 percent of children with constipation are caused by medical conditions. Some of the possible medical conditions include hypothyroidism (low thyroid level), hypercalcaemia (high calcium level), Hirschsprung disease (abnormal nerve development in the colon), abnormal development of the anus, and problems with absorbing nutrients, abnormalities of the spinal cord, and certain types of medications.

Some home remedies may be tried first at home if a child has constipation.

Ensuring a high fibre diet

A diet rich in fibre will help produce softer and more formed stools. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, and wholegrain cereal and bread are good sources of dietary fibre. At least two servings of vegetables and one serving of fruits every day is a sufficient amount. Fruit juices that include prune, apple, and pear are tasty and easy to consume and can be served 2-3 times a week.

Fibre supplements are available in several forms for some children who may be picky with food.

Adequate fluid intake

A child of 1 year old and above should have at least 1 litre of fluids per day.

Promote physical activity

Regular physical activity helps to stimulate bowel movement.

Healthy toilet habits

Establishing a toilet routine may be helpful. Set aside a regular time after a meal each day for the child to sit on the toilet for 5 minutes. A footstool to support their feet with their knees slightly higher than their hips can help to relax the bowels.

Praising the child for their effort is beneficial even if they did not have any bowel movement. Remind the child not to withhold their urge especially when they are engrossed in their play.

What about probiotics?

The role of probiotics in managing constipation is still being studied. Due to the many different probiotic strains and their characteristics, as well as the uncertainty of the most suitable and effective dose, there is still insufficient evidence to routinely recommend probiotics in the treatment or prevention of constipation. If home treatment had not been successful in treating the child’s constipation, it will be helpful to arrange a visit to the doctor.

Treatment of constipation involves two steps- disimpaction (“clean out”) followed by maintenance therapy.

Disimpaction

Especially for children with chronic constipation, often the first important step is to remove the impacted stools in the bowel. The treatment may include laxative medications taken by mouth such as lactulose or macrogol, and sometimes rectal suppositories. Oral laxatives are less distressing for children. It can take up to a week to achieve disimpaction and so it is often helpful for school-aged children to take a school break for a few days.

Maintenance

After achieving disimpaction, maintenance therapy is initiated. The aim is to have soft and spontaneous bowel movements on most days of the week. Regular laxatives are usually needed for several months to avoid the recurrence of constipation from prematurely stopping medications. The laxatives are then titrated off gradually as opposed to sudden cessation to ensure treatment success.

REDtone smart farming technologies raise yields, cut costs

ACCORDING to the United Nations, the world's population is projected to reach eight billion on November 15, this year. What this means is that up to 811 million people or about 10% of the world's population will go to bed hungry this year, according to World Vision International.

Together with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic which imposed lockdowns in various countries and disruptions to international logistics, food security has been affected to the point that it is now top-of-mind for global leaders.

Malaysia has not been spared either as food security is a hot topic in the country, propelled by food shortages and rising prices of daily necessities and essentials.

However, all is not lost as the National Food Security Policy Action Plan 2021-2025 calls for the strengthening of national food security.

The plan also takes stock of issues and challenges prompted by the food supply chain that covers five core strategies, 15 strategies and 96 initiatives to sustain the country's food supply at all times, especially in the face of unexpected situations.

The strategies serve to ensure food accessibility and affordability in the market, improve domestic food production, reduce dependence on food imports and foreign labour, and ensure preparedness in facing any food security crises.

The action plan will focus on all the four food security dimensions, namely, availability, access, consumption, and stability and sustainability, in accordance with those outlined by the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation.

The Department of Statistics Malaysia says as of 2020, the country’s share of agriculture stood at 7.4% of the overall GDP, which is comparatively lower than neighbouring countries such as Indonesia (13.7%) and Thailand (8.6%). Nonetheless, 16% of Malaysians are involved in agriculture.

Herein lies the urgent need to improve agriculture methodologies and yields, which will lower prices and sustain national food security. However, achieving this is almost impossible today under traditional, labour-intensive farming methods which require constant monitoring, and suffers from high wastage and production inefficiencies.

Just as concerning is that 65% of smallholder farmers retire in 15 years, while the hard work required by traditional farming does not encourage the next generation to take it up. Those who leave farming for other industries rarely, if ever return to it. If this state of affairs persists, food production in the country will continue to shrink.

That said, one company stands out as being at the forefront of providing solutions to these issues. REDtone offers the Internet of Things or IoT-based smart farming technologies.

Its experience and expertise are perfectly timed as the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries has allocated RM4.82 billion under Budget 2022 to transform the agricultural sector into a modern and dynamic one, making Malaysia more competitive as a leading world food producer.

The applications REDtone concentrates on are Satellite IoT Solutions, Smart Irrigation, Smart Fertigation, Automated Pesticide Misting, Smart Greenhouse (including environmental controls), a Plantation Monitoring System and Durian Fruitfall Monitoring System. All of these serve to improve agriculture yields and make farming lighter through automation.

Its IoT-based smart farming, also known as precision farming, helps farmers to optimise water, fertiliser and pesticide inputs and improve crop yields, quality and productivity by monitoring various factors such as humidity, temperature, soil conditions and fertiliser and pesticide levels on their farms or agricultural fields in real-time with the help of sensors and interconnectivity, according to REDtone Group CEO, Lau Bik Soon.

He said: Increasing control over production leads to better cost management, waste reduction, and boosts efficiency.

Lau pointed to the case of a greenhouse farmer who has reduced the application of pesticides for the leafy greens he grows from three times a week to just once weekly.

“The farm has also managed to reduce water usage by half. And crop damage has been reduced from 15% to 3%. So, the benefits are twofold -- reduced costs and increased yields,” he says.

In the case of another customer who runs a chilli farm, costs have fallen 15% per acre while yields have risen 15% to 20%.

For now, Malaysia only produces 71% of rice, fruits (66%), vegetables (40%) and ruminants (29%) of what we require annually.

With one million farms in the country, even if 10% adopted smart farming methods each year, it will take 10 years for the agriculture sector to be fully automated.

Hence, it's important to start now, whereby automation will allow each farm owner to increase yields by up to 20% and reduce costs by just as much.

Food security can be guaranteed within a single decade, and better yet, the country’s dependence on food imports, which rose from RM51.4bil in 2019 to RM55.4bil in 2020 according to a Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute report can be impactfully reduced.

Hence, with all its benefits, there needs to be an aggressive push to employ smart farming methods as provided by REDtone so that Malaysia can move ahead with modern technologies that ensure food security is a foregone conclusion.

Nurturing skilled graduates

A TOTAL of 76 students from Berjaya TVET College graduated from various programmes in the third convocation ceremony, three years since 2019, a year before the Covid-19 pandemic.

The convocation ceremony was held at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel on Aug 13, 2022.

The event began with a speech by the college’s vice president, Dr. Sherly George, who spoke about the students’ achievements before the presentation of the scrolls to the students, who had completed their diplomas and certificates studies in the fields of culinary arts, business management, and language studies programmes.

Most of the graduates were from the School of Culinary Arts.

In her speech, Sherly said Berjaya TVET welcomed the first batch of students in January 2017, offering programmes in culinary and hospitality.

“Over the time, Berjaya TVET offered additional programmes in information technology, business with specialisations in event management, accounting, cyber security and many more to come,” she said.

“The graduates were trained through our ‘experiential vocational-industry’ approach, where students go through hands-on training and are placed in companies or organisations under our Industrial Practise subject to gain experience while studying,” said Sherly.

Sherly said that at least 80% of her students have been absorbed into job placements within three to six months of completion of a programme.

Berjaya TVET College is a private technical, vocational, education, and training college focusing on producing practical-orientated students, equipped with knowledge and skills ready for the industry. The college provides certificate level and advanced diploma programs.

They prepare smart, well-rounded, and competent students.

According to the CEO of Berjaya TVET College, Dr. A. Kanendran the college provides basic but skilled based programmes, operational skills, and latest techniques. “The style of an academy college is that they teach the theory and the practical supplements it. However, we teach the practical and operational skills first, and then the theory. It’s a slightly different concept,” Kanendran told theSun.

“We are the best, we have the work connection for internships, on-the-job training, job opportunities after graduation, and our facilities are good,” said Kanendran said about the college.

The students, however, were all praising the teachers and lectures.

Gwendolyn Apryl Choi Wen Ning, 24, a diploma holder in hotel and management, said whenever they didn’t understand something, the lectures would answer them, patiently. The 2021 batch graduate related an incident when a student posted a message in a Whatsapp group at 3am and Dr. Kanendran responded, immediately.

S.Durgaashini Somunaidu – S. TAMARAI Chelvi/THESUN

Another student, S. Durgaashini Somunaidu, 25, an advanced diploma in food preparation and production, shared a similar experience.

“Whenever we have doubts, we can text our lectures and they would reply immediately,” said Durgaashini, who is now pursuing a degree in the same field.

She also shared that the lecturers would motivate students who want to give up their studies to continue their studies.

The 2020 batch students, who are graduating after two years, said: “I feel so happy to graduate and I have been waiting for this day.”

Yap Wei Lu, 22, a diploma holder in business management, added that the teachers are friendly and easy to approach.

This year, the college decided to hold a convocation for students from three batches who had completed their programmes in 2020, late 2021 and early 2022.

The delay was due to the pandemic.

Kanendran said the college invited 400 students to participate, but only 76 students attended, while others had to miss the event due to work.

“Many students are not here as they are already employed locally and in foreign countries like Singapore and the Middle East, said Dr. Kanendran.

“The last time we had a graduation was in 2019. As a TVET college, we are relatively new. “Our first graduation was in 2018,” explained Kanendran.

Hence, this year, the convocation is not just significant but it is also special for most students.

The new intake for new-skill based offers are E-Sports, Accounting, Cyber Security, and cruise operations, which started in August 2022. The college also accepts students who are 16 years of age with no SPM qualifications.

Berjaya TVET also has a programme for ‘Special Needs’ students, especially catering to slow-learners.

The new ACER Swift 5 is a welcome upgrade

THERE’S a saying that “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, but ACER’s recent update of its popular Swift 5 laptop completely blows that theory out of the water. Updated internals, a sleeker design and a greater commitment towards sustainability have all made the refreshed ACER Swift 5 a welcome improvement of a popular workhorse device.

Right out of the box, the Swift 5 surprised me with its lightweight 1.2kg design. I also appreciated the feel of its self-described “aerospace-grade aluminium chassis” which felt resolutely solid, yet was not bulky at all.

One new design development was its eco-friendly OceanGlass touchpad, which is made from ocean-bound plastic and is a symbol of the brand’s commitment to increasing the sustainability of its products.

The gold-plated accents at the sides, the hinge and the ACER logo also added a subtle touch of class, which I appreciated. The review unit I received was Mist Green, which in reality is a lot more grey than green, but it nonetheless fit with the more sophisticated look that the company is going for. In terms of ports, the ACER Swift 5 has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a HDMI port, a Kensington lock port – for added security in business use – and a headset jack.

Setting up the ACER Swift 5 was a rather painless affair, taking just under 10 minutes between pressing the power button – which has a built-in fingerprint reader – to reaching the home screen. The device comes with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021 pre-installed, and is powered by the new 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 CPU and 16GB of RAM, with a 1TB drive.

Its display is a 14”, WUXGA 1900x1200p Corning Gorilla Glass panel, with slim bezels at the sides to maximise view space. I fired up a video to test it, and was instantly surprised by how crisp and clear the images were. In addition, the device’s speakers were top-notch, and can project the sound of everything from music videos to movies with little blowback, should you choose to utilise them instead of using headphones.

Another thing I enjoyed was how tactile the keys were. As someone who is currently using a PC and riding the modified keyboard trend, the ACER Swift 5 reminded me of how enjoyable the softer, more compact laptop keyboard can be. The keyboard has a dual-tier backlight, which I found could be adjusted by pressing the F11 key, which helps when typing in different lighting conditions.

Performance-wise, I was extremely happy with the speed and efficiency of the device. It could handle a regular day’s work, which often means having multiple tabs open, occasionally with something streaming in the background. Battery life was also pretty good, with a full charge able to last the entire day, even with long stretches of typing and video streaming.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed using the ACER Swift 5, and it makes the perfect device for those looking for a more efficient and performance-driven upgrade from their existing laptops.

The review model I tested is the mid-tier variant and is priced at RM5,699. Thebase model of the ACER Swift 5 is priced at RM4,699 and comes with the same WUXGA 1900x1200p display, 12th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU and 8GB of RAM, with a 512GB drive, while the high-end variant is the same as the mid-tier, but comes with a WQXGA 2560x1600p panel and is priced at RM6,599.

The ACER Swift 5 is available for purchase at the ACER eStore, as well as ACER’s official stores on Shopee and Lazada. Those who make their purchase by Sept 30 will be able to get a free Sleeve Case, a backpack as well as RM120 of Touch n’ Go credit.

Starting them young

Running until 28th August, KidZania Kuala Lumpur’s “KidZ & Health” initiative aims to raise awareness on key health topics among Malaysian families, especially children, in a bid to show how good physiological health and wellbeing can indeed be a cornerstone to a wonderful and fulfilling life.

Making healthy habits – a seemingly uninteresting topic - more relatable and exciting to children, the programme presents a line-up of activities set to educate little participants in fun and engaging ways through play. These activities are broken down into three segments – Nutrition, Health and Fitness, where kids will partake in activities specially designed to arouse and engage the curiosity and interest of young, inquisitive minds.

Present at the launch event was 13-year-old baker Chef Leah Choy - who has realised the importance of championing good health from an early age. The young baker with a big heart made headlines with her inspiring story after she started baking and selling cupcakes at the tender age of age four to raise funds for her sister’s medical treatment. At the launch, Leah conducted a live demonstration of her very own nutritional recipe that can easily be replicated by any child or parent at home. She was joined by the newly appointed mayor of KidZania Kuala Lumpur, Mara Whittaker.

“Through this exciting and captivating programme, kids will be able to better understand for themselves how to lead a healthier lifestyle. This is the perfect platform to bring to life a topic that can be often overlooked in fun and relatable ways. It is our hope that kids will be able to grasp the importance of healthy habits and practice it in their everyday lives. Rather than just listening to parents preaching it every day, children will now be able to experience it hands-on here,” said Mara.

Google Doodle: Azah Aziz’s 94th Birthday

Today’s Google Doodle honours the late Azah Aziz on, what would have been, her 94th birthday. She was one of the pioneering women journalists in Malaysia and a Malaysian cultural icon remembered for her lifelong work towards the preservation of Malay culture, textiles and traditional attire for generations to come. Given her legacy, she was named Tokoh Budayawan Melayu or figure of Malaysian culture.

A star was born

Mak Ungku, as she was fondly known, was born on August 21, 1928. Her keen interest in language, culture and the arts had been nurtured by her mother, Azizah Jaafar, who was from a distinguished Johor family and a pioneer in domestic science studies, and from whom she inherited a fine collection of early Malay textiles and garments. This was also reinforced by her marriage to Royal Professor Ungku Abdul Aziz bin Ungku Abdul Hamid, with whom she shared a deep interest in Malay language and culture.

Her interest in writing and literature developed when she took up secretarial work at the Malay Studies Department, working under the department head Tan Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, more popularly known as Pendeta Za’ba, a renowned Malay language and literature scholar.

Pioneering woman journalist and author

In 1957, Azah Aziz was offered a job as a secretary to the Straits Times’ then-editor-in-chief Leslie Hoffman, three months after it introduced its first romanised Malay newspaper, the Berita Harian. She then began her career as a journalist when she was tasked to manage the women’s section, taking over duties originally handled by her mother Azizah, for two years.

Among the international personalities she interviewed during her journalism stint were former prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi, boxer Muhammad Ali and his family, and the first woman cosmonaut that went into outer space, Valentina Nikolayeva-Tereshkova.

Azah Aziz was a pioneer in many ways. She founded the Malaysian Women Journalists Association (Pertama) and became its first president (1971-1978) and later its advisor. She was also one of the founders of the Pertubuhan Tindakan Wanita Islam (Pertiwi), a charitable organisation dedicated towards addressing the welfare and needs of women and children. She also championed salary equality, separate taxes for working wives, Muslim family amendments and later founded the Islamic Women’s Action Organization.

Apart from her many newspaper and magazine articles written during her 37 years as a journalist, she has authored more then ten books including the seminal volume on Malay textiles and costumes titled Rupa dan Gaya: Busana Melayu which discusses the influence of cultural values, traditional customs and historical developments on its evolution.

Through Akaz, her own publishing company, Azah Aziz became one of the first women in Malaysia to publish books on poetry, games and songs for children, such as Adik Comel, Ibu, Keluarga Kita, O! Bangau dan Burung Kenek Kenek, Kenangan Budi, Pantun-pantun Melayu, Taman Seni, Dendang dan Dondang Kanak-kanak and many others.

Malay cultural expert

Despite her career, her love for the arts and textile did not wane. Throughout the years, she collected antique garments and fabrics from the old Malay world. Azah owned a collection of over 100 types of heritage clothings such as baju kurung, baju Melayu and kebaya, which she inherited and bought.

With her in-depth knowledge of costume, jewelry and textiles, she lectured about and introduced Malay culture to art festivals and international seminars. She spent her life elevating Malay customs so its culture could continue to thrive around the world.

In addition to knowing all the pieces of traditional clothings and the types of textiles, she was also very adept about the ways to wear them and what pieces of accessories are needed to match them. That was why she was often a go-to source of reference by people involved in the field.

Her involvement in the field had prompted many to appoint her as a member of their board of directors, including the National Film Development Corporation (Finas), Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation, and the Tun Razak Foundation’s Board of Trustees, among others.

Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) has also recognized her contributions in the field of journalism and the promotion of culture in 2008, with the university awarding her an Honorary Doctorate in Arts and Education. Azah Aziz was also selected as a Tokoh Wanita Johor in 1992, honored as Avon-Tan Sri Fatimah 1994 Women of Distinction Award, and the first recipient of Anugerah Jarum Berlian that was organized by Rias magazine, a publication by Utusan Melayu.

An inspiration for generations to come

Azah Aziz’s daughter, Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Aziz shares her thoughts on her mother’s legacy:

“I grew up with a very close relationship with my mother. All throughout my career, she was very supportive. Without her support, I would’ve never been able to have the career that I did. She was everything to all of us and now that she’s not here, we miss her immensely. She was a fighter, with a very strong passion for the issues that she believed in. Growing up, she was very liberal in her thinking on many issues and wrote passionately about it for women’s rights, children’s rights, but I wouldn’t describe her as a feminist but rather more as an advocate of women’s issues and those issues relating to children.

As a little girl, I remember her interest in writing. She wrote about textiles, costumes and how they would be worn, and about cultural heritage. She believed, like if you wanted to wear a modern outfit, you should always wear it, whether it’s the Western modern outfit or from any other country, but you shouldn’t change the structure of your own traditional clothes to preserve and conserve its originality. Her book is so meaningful and what is unique about her work is, although many people had written about textiles and costumes of the region but none of them had integrated the classics and poetry that were written hundred of years ago, that have made reference to these textiles and costumes, giving us a very deep insights into the beauty and special distinct element relating to these exquisite and resplendent textiles. I want the world to know about the Malay cultural heritage embodied in the textiles and costumes that I had the book translated into English and it will be soon published, and the intention is for it to be widely distributed.

Her collection will also be gifted to a museum on textiles, costumes and accessories (soon to be announced) so that Malaysians and the world can share this wonderful heritage through her eyes and see how beautiful it is and how it should be appreciated, better understood and cherished so that it can be preserved, for it has survived many hundreds of years, it needs to continue to do so for future generations!”

Azah Aziz’s grandson also reflects on their memories together:

“If you ask me about my grandmother, the first thing I would say is she had a great sense of humor and wit! Fantastic warm laughter that I can still recall. When I was a young boy I remember that she taught me how to play congkak, card games and classic board games like monopoly. I miss her cooking but most of all I miss her company and how we shared great adventures traveling overseas.” – Alif Ayman

Thank you, Azah Aziz, for your knowledge and contributions to preserve the Malay culture and customs, shining and adorning the world of art and becoming a source of inspiration for future generations!

For the discerning traveller

Ever since it was created in 1968, the Seiko 5 Sports collection of mechanical watches has been synonymous with durability and reliability. When, in 2019, the collection was relaunched, an active and youthful dynamism was added. Today the collection takes another step forward with, for the first time, the introduction of a GMT calibre. Based on the tried and trusted platform of Caliber 4R, this new series of three designs offer the convenience of a GMT hand in a case that is just 0.1 mm thicker than the existing one.

Designed for the international traveller

All three new executions offer a dial with a different colour; black, blue and orange. To ensure that they stand out clearly, the GMT hands are in bright red on the black and blue dial versions and in black for the version in orange. Just like the time of day hands and indexes, the GMT hand has a generous layer of Lumibrite to ensure legibility in low light conditions. In addition to the international convenience of the GMT function, the watches also feature a rotating bezel that is in two colours to separate the night and day hours at a glance. The bezel’s ring indicator is made of Seiko’s Hardlex glass to deliver the high level of durability for which the Seiko 5 Sports collection is renowned.

A design based on heritage

The design of the case and dial draws inspiration from one of Seiko’s best-loved sports watches, known to enthusiasts as the Seiko SKX series. The five-row bracelet is a new design also inspired by the original SKX series in which the middle rows are polished to create a contrast with the solid feel of the rows that bind them.

All three watches will join the main Seiko 5 Sports collection and have already been released in Malaysia and Brunei markets.

Empowering the public against online harm

The Internet and social media help speed up the process of news and information delivery. It serves as the main medium for Malaysians to keep updated with the current situation and to strengthen relationships among family and friends.

However, these platforms open up a wealth of opportunities for scammers to connect with consumers, creating immeasurable potential harm.

To safeguard the public against online harm, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), a body under the purview of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM), has come up with several guidelines and initiatives to protect individuals from physical, emotional and financial harm as they use web-based products or services.

Protection is also required from activity which is legal but harmful, such as cyberbullying and misinformation.

How to keep yourself safe

Over the years, it is clear that scammers and fraudsters look to target people of all backgrounds, ages and income levels across Malaysia. There is no single group of people who are more likely to become a victim of scam.

Vigilance, self-awareness and knowledge are key to avoiding falling victim to scams that have been set up by malicious individuals. To effectively protect against the increasing threat of falling victim to online fraud, it is essential for consumers understand their methods, and how to address these criminal efforts.

There are several ways that one can take to protect themselves from becoming a victim of scams and fraud:

First, be alert to the fact that scams exist. When dealing with unsolicited communications from people or businesses, whether it’s over the phone, by mail, email, in person or on a social networking site, always consider the possibility that any ‘business proposal’ or a request for a payment or loan could be a scam. Remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Next, know who you’re dealing with. If you’ve only ever met someone online or are unsure of the legitimacy of a business, take time to do more research. Do a Google image search on photos or search the internet for others who may have had dealings with them or use the SemakMule Portal to check whether the bank account or phone number used in the communications was recently involved in a crime.

Scammers might even try to trick you by posing as someone you know, or hack into your existing contact list. For example, you might suddenly receive a message or email purporting to be from a friend, but which seems unusual or out of character for them. They might suddenly request money for their ‘business’ which they have never mentioned before, or claim to be in trouble and in need of money.

Should that happen, you should immediately contact your mutual friends or family members to find out the real situation, or even call your friend directly to check that it was really them who sent the message.

Do not open suspicious texts, pop-up windows or click on links or attachments in emails – delete them: If unsure, verify the identity of the contact through an independent source online or via directory search. Don’t use the contact details provided in the message sent to you.

Avoid providing personal information by responding to an unsolicited request. Also, beware of any requests for your details or money. It is important to never send money or give credit card details, online account details or copies of personal documents to anyone you don’t know or trust.

Never agree to transfer money or goods for someone else. Scammers often use unsuspecting victims to help them in their money laundering schemes, which is a criminal offence.

What you can do

Among the suggestions by MCMC:

a. If you are convinced that the contact is legitimate, initiate your own communication with the financial institution’s official contact to find out.

b. Official contact like hotline telephone numbers, emails and direct numbers can be found on your monthly statement you receive from your financial institution. The important thing is that you initiate the communication using verified information, not from the email or phone calls.

c. Never provide your password over unsolicited and unverified communication channels. Your financial institution would never ask you to verify any information online. If your account is subjected to security problem, your financial institution will ask you to come over personally to rectify the problem

d. Always review your account statement regularly to spot any unauthorised activities. Make sure you receive your monthly statement on time and review it to confirm your transactions. The earlier you identify a security breach, the higher are the chances for your financial institution to rectify and identify the breach, thus minimising financial loss.

Sebenarnya.my

Besides safeguarding users from fraudulent activities, the MCMC is also working to clamp down on the spread of fake news, which has the potential to cause distress or create disharmony among citizens.

The MCMC wishes to remind people that it is an offence to create and disseminate fake news, upload or distribute any content that may violate any provisions of the written laws in the country, comment beyond limits and to the extent of causing disharmony and unrest among the people i.e. Malaysians can form and share their opinions or thoughts freely while adhering to the law enacted under Article 10 (1) (a) of the Federal Constitution.

To that end, MCMC has created a platform to improve media literacy among the public i.e. sebenarnya.my

The portal was launched on March 14, 2017 as a one-stop centre for the public to check and report news items which have not been authenticated through the www.sebenarnya.my link, which they received either through social media, short messaging services, blogs or websites to enable it to be verified by official channels or the relevant government agencies involved.

This portal is now one of the reference sources for the public to determine the authenticity of news.

As of December 2021, the portal has received 294 million visits since its launch and on average receives up to 4.8 million “hits” per month, and a total of 324 investigation papers have been opened by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

Of that number, 50 cases have been prosecuted in court. Enforcement action can be taken under the provisions of Section 233 AKM98 or Section 505 of the Penal Code. An official Sebenarnya.my Telegram channel was also established at the link t.me/sebenarnyamy on March 16, 2020, and has over 26,000 subscribers.

The public may channel information or lodge reports on this matter to the police’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) Scam Response Centre at 03-26101559 and 03-26101599, or MCMC through aduan.skmm.gov.my, e-mail aduanskmm@mcmc.gov.my or WhatsApp at 016-220 6262.

Phishing emails can also be reported to MCMC where actions will be taken immediately to remove the phishing site and protect Malaysian Internet users from the attack. Send your report to: nsc@mcmc.gov.my or aduanskmm@cmc.gov.my.

Sports Toto reading programme makes a comeback

STM Lottery Sdn. Bhd. (Formerly known as Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.) restarts its Sports Toto “Reading My Companion” Reading Programme to donate storybooks to the students of 11 Chinese primary schools in West Malaysia.

The 2022 edition of Sports Toto “Reading My Companion” Reading Programme would donate storybooks to 11 micro-sized Chinese primary schools in the rural areas of Perak, Pahang, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor, benefitting a total of 1,586 students.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to temporarily suspend our reading programme. As we are transitioning into the endemic phase, we are glad to bring back the reading programme,“ said Mr Giam Say Khoon, Senior Communications Manager of STM Lottery.

As part of the STM Lottery’s Helping Hands programme, the reading programme is in line with the Goal 4 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.

The “Reading My Companion” reading programme aims to inculcate reading as a pastime of choice for the rural students who are relatively lacking in terms of recreational choices.

Starting on 4 August 2022, a team of staff volunteers would visit the 11 participating schools and hand over the storybooks to the students.

Apart from giving away storybooks to the students, STM Lottery would also donate storybooks to the library of each participating school. A storytelling session would be held at the schools to teach the students to enjoy reading creatively.

The schools would play an active role in driving book exchange among the students as they are encouraged to share stories in class and pen down their post-reading thoughts in the journals.

To encourage keen participation among the students, tokens of commendation have been arranged for 2 students who show the highest level of participation, in each of the 11 participating schools.

Initiated by STM Lottery in 2012, the reading programme has so far benefitted over 15,000 students in 143 sub-urban schools in Selangor, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang and Johor.

Seven spectacular years of success

Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform CARSOME Group Inc (CARSOME) recently celebrated its seventh-year anniversary with trajectory growth across the region, off the back of over 260,000 completed transactions, millions of customers served through its platform and more than 18,000 cars sold per month across core markets.

Establishing a Household Brand in Southeast Asia’s Used Car Market

Since its establishment in 2015 with the core objective of solving customers’ pain points by bringing trust, choice and transparency, CARSOME has innovated the used-car market through data and technology and provided consumers with an alternative to buying and selling their used cars. The Malaysia-founded household brand has since grown and expanded in the region, resulting in the accolade of becoming Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform.

CARSOME Co-founder and Group CEO Eric Cheng said it had been an amazing seven years that has seen the team through countless wins and some losses along the way. “Today, we are still working tirelessly to solidify ourselves as Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform and I am proud of my diverse, strong and capable team who have supported CARSOME’s growth by delivering exceptional value to our customers,” Cheng added.

Bringing Innovation into the Used Car Ecosystem

Five years into its operations, CARSOME has successfully penetrated four core markets – Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand – by 2020, to emerge as the market leader in these countries. The pandemic did not halt its year-on-year growth; in fact, CARSOME’s business outside of Malaysia is expected to contribute up to 40% of group revenue by the end of 2022.

While the pandemic has affected nearly every industry imaginable, CARSOME continued to expand its footprints and launched its retail business in 2020. From the first Experience Center in Malaysia to more than 20 across the region, CARSOME’s retail business now has become the fastest growing business for the company. In less than two years’ time, it has successfully delivered more than 10 times growth year-on-year. Today, it’s already contributing to more than 25% of group revenue and is expected to contribute to about half of the group’s revenue in the mid-long term.

As it expands ‘Phygitally’ across the region, CARSOME currently has more than 120 Inspection and Experience Centers across the four markets that are interconnected by its established regional logistics hubs. To continue meeting customers’ increasing demand for quality used cars, CARSOME launched the region’s first and largest state-of-the-art refurbishment facility – the CARSOME Certified Lab in Malaysia – which has the capacity to recondition more than 2,000 cars per month. Onward from this success, CARSOME is planning to launch three more CARSOME Certified Labs by the end of 2022 to meet the retail reconditioning demands also in Indonesia and Thailand.

Driving the Used Car Industry through Partnerships and Talent Development

In its mission to innovate the used car ecosystem, CARSOME also contributed towards developing a skilled workforce and establishing a strategic alliance to better serve customers’ needs. In 2021, the company launched CARSOME Academy, a platform designed to offer Malaysian youths technical training and guaranteed career opportunities upon graduation.

Today, CARSOME Academy is accredited as a Recognition of Prior Achievement Center by the Department of Skill Development under the Ministry of Human Resources in Malaysia, in its effort to continue offering quality training to support the industry. This year, CARSOME Academy expanded to Indonesia and Thailand to further promote the automotive workforce and job opportunities within the region. As of today, CARSOME Academy has provided courses to more than 1,500 students totalling more than 6,000 hours of training.

It has also formed key partnerships to strengthen its leadership position, thus bringing solutions to the market that are powered by integrated data assets to better deliver the CARSOME promise to consumers. Among the strategic alliances that have been formed include the acquisitions of three entities – iCar Asia, which is Southeast Asia’s largest online auto classified platform; WapCar, a leading auto content and social media platform; and CarTimes, Singapore’s award-winning and leading car dealership with decades of operating experiences (in which CARSOME recently acquired a 51% stake).

Propelling CARSOME into the Future

Together with our strategic alliances, CARSOME now manages more than 14 million visitors monthly with a network of over 20,000 dealers. Earlier in the year, CARSOME was part of a consortium led by KAF Investment Bank to become one of the first batches of companies in Malaysia to be awarded a digital banking license. This marks a new milestone for the group and serves as a catalyst for it to drive the used car ecosystem and augment its ability to democratize financial access for underserved communities. More recently, CARSOME announced the appointment of football legend, Eric Cantona, as its brand ambassador. As one of the greatest footballers of his generation, Cantona and CARSOME both share a common drive in their relentless spirit to go above and beyond for their fans and consumers.

Cheng concluded: “Despite the current climate of an ongoing global recession, demands for used cars continue to remain resilient in Southeast Asia. At CARSOME, we are optimistic about our prospects and believe in strong growth in this sector for the next five years.”

“CARSOME’s journey to be where it is today has truly been a remarkable one. It has given us many moments of gratification when we go beyond just solving customers’ pain points, to injecting innovation into an industry that was driven by traditional practices. Seven years on, we will continue to carry on with our goal of providing our customers with better peace of mind throughout their car transaction and ownership journey.”

An easy fix for potholes

With Malaysia’s pothole problem worsening due to various movement control orders during the last two years, this new machine has been developed specifically to give local authorities and road contractors a single machine solution to costly pothole repair work.

The new 3CX Potholemaster offers a rapid, mobile and safe solution for tackling the growing road maintenance challenge. Its compact dimensions and manoeuvrability enable operation on narrow lanes or congested urban areas – so it can repair pothole damage with less disruption to the public and in restricted locations which would be challenging for larger equipment.

Equipped with an excavator-mounted patch planer and a sweeper shovel located on the front loader arms, the 3CX Potholemaster is capable of rapid travels speeds of 40km/h.

This offers local authorities and road contractors a fast, self-deployable machine that can cover the significant territory. Its extreme versatility and the fleet management functionality of JCB’s Livelink telematics system also allow local highway authorities to tangibly demonstrate more effective plant utilisation, a reduction in standing time and increased resource capacity within existing budgets.

Built for pothole repair

Tailor-made for highway repair and maintenance, the 3CX Potholemaster is fitted with a purpose-built patch planer from JCB Attachments that have been hydraulically matched and flow-rated to work specifically with this machine’s high output auxiliary hydraulic service. It is suitable for tarmac applications and provides a smooth and well-prepared working area, ensuring a long-term pothole repair, rather than a temporary solution to the problem.

The front end of the 3CX Potholemaster is equipped with a hydraulic sweeper collector shovel. The overall width, including the hydraulic motor, is within the width of the machine, making it easy for the operator to travel safely on the road.

The sweeper shovel’s enclosed brush, which uses an integrated mix of plastic and wire brushes for maximum durability, provides a clean pick-up of road planings with minimal dust and no risk of material being thrown away from the machine. Unlike conventional sweeper collectors, it has also been designed to allow downward pressure on the brushes to maximise the removal of debris.

One or two passes of the planed area are enough to provide a clean work area that is ready for repair and relaying of asphalt. The brush enclosure also greatly reduces any dust as the shovel is tipped into road tippers, for removal from the site. Furthermore, the onboard dust suppression system uses a water tank and pumps to keep dust to a minimum during dry weather operations.

Road performance

The engine drives through a four-speed JCB transmission to all four wheels, for maximum traction in difficult site conditions. The transmission offers a 40km/h top speed for travel between sites. This allows local authorities and contractors to rapidly move the machine between road repair sites, without the need for additional transport, increasing utilisation and ensuring maximum productivity throughout the day.

Maximum versatility

JCB’s innovative hand-held power tool hydraulic circuit, mounted on the side of the 3CX Potholemaster, allows operatives to use a wide range of hand-held tools from submersible pumps to breakers and saws, to cut around ironwork in the road and to provide a clean end to the patch area.

This also allows the road repair crew to access difficult areas that cannot be reached by the patch planer. The submersible pump is especially relevant to Malaysia as it can be used to help clean up after heavy rain periods.

Traditionally authorities and contractors have had to use a wide array of cutting, breaking and planing machinery, with separate road sweepers and rollers to carry out even the smallest of pothole repairs. The single backhoe loader-based solution greatly reduces the number of machines required to carry out this type of work, reducing cost and increasing utilisation for the user.

Smaller tools and machines have to be carried to the site on additional trucks and delivery vehicles, while the JCB Potholemaster can carry out road repair preparation and then rapidly move independently to the next site, while the repair team lays the new materials.

As a result, with one machine, a 3CX Potholemaster operator can go directly to the site without additional transport, plane a hole, clear the planings and prepare the edges – all before any other road maintenance workers or equipment need to arrive. This innovation to the repair process has huge efficiency benefits with JCB customers recording up to 60% improvements on their previous approach.

A further benefit of the Potholemaster design is that when not being used for road repair duties, it is possible to remove the attachments and operate the 3CX as a high-powered backhoe loader. Contactors and authorities will have a machine that is capable of helping with flood prevention, utility installation and other maintenance duties throughout the year. This ensures that the customer can achieve maximum utilisation with a lean operation.

“We are grateful for the trust and confidence our customers have shown in our backhoe loaders since their inception and a key reason for this has been our ability to continuously improve the product. Following on the legacy of this innovation, we are excited to introduce the new 3DX Sitemaster range of machines to the region,” says Bill Tok, Executive Director, Mach 1 Construction Equipment Sdn Bhd.

ATOMY: HemoHIM developed, for better health

“Atomy brings HemoHIM to the whole world, by capturing the health needs of consumers, and working closely with their business partners. At the same time, implementing the strategy for ‘Masstige Products’.”

The current modern business has entered an era of competition among product capabilities. Behind each product reflects a company’s insight into its consumers. Acknowledgement would only be given when the products meet the core needs of the market. For this, Atomy has a say. Take HemoHIM for instance, since its launch in 2009, its quality has been recognized. Based on statistics, in 2012, it is the 5th best-selling product sold by Atomy Korea, and accelerated to the 2nd best-selling in 2013. By the year 2015, it had become the best-selling product and maintained its place for a continuous 7 years.

ATOMY HemoHIM breaks sales records

In 2010, HemoHim went out for the first time overseas, exported to the USA, and hit a sales performance of 1.35 billion won. As of 2021, it has been sold in 17 countries, with an average annual growth of 57.4% in the 11 years, becoming the best seller universally. This result did not just happen, but its unique corporate culture, supported by a rigorous quality control system and scientific R&D technology helped it be where it is today.

Combining forces to create a product

Sold in 17 countries, HemoHIM is Atomy’s top-selling product.

Why is it so?

First, this has got to do with their corporate culture.

The connotation of the “joint efforts to achieve goodness” is the mutual development among the partnering companies. This is reflected in various aspects such as cooperation mode, operations, profit distribution, resource support and etc.

It is reported that in order for the partnering company to focus on the quality and price of the products and avoid unnecessary competition, Atomy has surpassed the cooperative relationship between A and B, and adheres to the principle of one product, one company.

To ensure the reasonable profit of the partnering companies, Atomy not only adheres to cash on delivery, but also implements capital support, including purchasing raw materials, for partnering companies that are experiencing funding difficulties.

In addition, the partnering companies that trade with Atomy also have the opportunity to export products to Atomy’s overseas branches, helping them expand market channels, embrace the international market, and grow together.

Hence, to some extent, the close cooperation between Atomy and its partner companies has contributed to the birth and great sales of HemoHIM.

After 8 years of painstaking R&D process by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), Atomy obtained the mixed extract of important raw materials such as angelica. Also, in 2006, it obtained the South Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety Administration’s MFDS certification.

This product uses Angelica which is cultivated in the highlands of Pyeongchang-gun in Gangwon Province, Cnidium Officinale and Paeonia Japonica, creating a stable foundation for the quality.

For the production process, Atomy works closely with Kolmar BNH (SBT). After scientific and rigorous testing, the above raw materials are transported to the modern factory here for processing and production. It is particularly worth mentioning that Atomy has also set up a “Food History Tracking System” to manage the history information of raw materials at all stages from production to product consumption, ensuring product safety within strict standards. Since then, the products have passed through Atomy’s powerful distribution hub and delivered to customers with the concept of “excellent quality, great price”.

From R&D, raw material supply, production, and food processing to transportation, every stage is very critical and closely coordinated. The great sales of HemoHIM have also allowed partners including the raw material planting base and Kolmar BNH to gain more market opportunities and development through their cooperation with Atomy.

Continuing to excel, creating masstige products

After 8 years of development by the KAERI, HemoHIM, with its excellent quality, has obtained a Korean patented formula. In recent years, with the high public demand for healthy consumption, HemoHIM is largely accepted by consumers because of its quality.

The Korea Fair Trade Commission had in a public statement, showed that from 2009 to 2021, a local sales performance of 1.47 trillion won, with overseas sales reaching 550 billion won, amounting to a total of approximately Ringgit Malaysia 6.9 billion. Especially in the year 2021, it has a universal sales performance increased by 17.59% compared to the previous year, totalling up to 379.1 billion won.

Behind the ever-increasing sales data are hidden details about the product. These details reflect that Atomy has always adhered to the concept of “quality products, better prices” and practised the strategy of “quality products for the masses”.

For instance, when it was first launched, a box of HemoHIM consisted of 30 sachets. Under the strategy of ‘Masstige Products’, Atomy insisted on less income, more sales, reducing the production cost, benefiting the consumers. With this, the number of sachets had increased from 30 to 48 and 54. Up till today, it has reached 60 sachets per box. When it reached 60 sachets, Atomy had also took action in cost controlling from the aspect of packaging and manuals.

Atomy stated, though the production, design and product specifications had changed, their belief in providing masstige products to the members will never change.

What is “Quality Product, Better Price”?

Atomy’s idea is to provide products of high quality at an affordable and reasonable price. When the prices remain, Atomy would provide better quality. When the quality remains, they provide better prices. With this intention, lots of Atomy’s product has been upgraded in the sense of bigger volume, at the same price.

At the same time, integrating “consumer success” into raw material cultivation, manufacturing, production and sales have always been the focus of Atomy over the years.

Reflected in specific products, it can be said that HemoHIM is the result of the concept of “quality product, better price”. It is a name for Atomy, motivation to the members to succeed.

The fundamental of business is demand and supply. Any product or service would always turn back to the ‘demand’. Atomy got hold of the consumers ‘demand’ for health, and with their close partnering relationships, it manages to implement the concept of masstige products to its fullest, successfully bringing it to the whole world.

Currently, the demand for health products is increasing, with even the younger getting interested in ‘traditional’ healthcare. Using traditional herbs as ingredients shows the bright future of the products.

Atomy has gained great experience in this industry, yet never stops to reach higher. We believe that when more companies get support from Atomy, more members would be able to achieve their dream of entrepreneurship. Consumers would also get better products and services, which is beneficial to Atomy’s future.
